Tillamook Presents: Melty Fest 2019 at Sweet Auburn Barbecue in Atlanta

August 21, 2019

This post is in partnership with Tillamook, all opinions are my very own.

My favorite cheese and ice cream brand, Tillamook recently just launched in Atlanta stores! If you aren’t already familiar with Tillamook’s amazing cheeses and ice creams, Tillamook is a 110-year-old, farmer-owned cooperative based in Tillamook, Oregon, made up of about 80 farming families. One of the main reasons why I love Tillamook (besides their amazingly delicious products!) is because they pride themselves on their commitment and mission to connect farmers and food lovers through better made dairy products. Tillamook has set out to share their award-winning products with food lovers from coast to coast, Tillamook started their very first Melty Fest Tour  in cities across the U.S. earlier this year.

To celebrate their products becoming available in Atlanta area stores, Tillamook is teaming up with Sweet Auburn Barbecue in Atlanta for a delicious event on Thursday, August 22nd: A Celebration of Pimento Cheese.  The dynamic sibling chef duo, Howard and Anita Hsu will be showcasing their famous pimento cheese wontons, while an incredible roster of Atlanta chefs will also be incorporating this southern staple in a variety of delicious dishes!

 Participants include:

Ford Fry (King & Duke)
Suzanne Vizethann (Buttermilk Kitchen)
Joey Ward & Spencer Gomez (Southern Belle)
Howard & Anita Hsu (Sweet Auburn Barbecue)
Ron Hsu (Lazy Betty)

Last night I attended the preview event at Sweet Auburn Barbecue to get a sneak peak of some of the offerings that will be served up on Thursday!

While I was at Sweet Auburn BBQ, I got the opportunity to meet the beautiful, Anita Hsu!  Her and her brother are so talented and I got to try some of their delicious southern barbecue that has a Malaysian-Chinese twist! I tried their Tillamook Pimento Cheese Wontons (to die for!), Spicy Szechuan Collard Greens, Green Apple Kim Chi (also on the menu was Wu Tang Smoked Wings, Coconut Lemongrass Ribs and Chopped Brisket Jap Jae) and finished it off with Tillamook Old Fashioned Vanilla Ice Cream topped with a pecan praline topping.

My favorite part was the cheddar grits made by Chef Howard & Anita Hsu and lucky for you, I’m sharing their recipe that features yummy Tillamook Cheddar Cheese!
