This post is sponsored by Horizon Theatre; however, all thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.
As a new parent, finding time to have a “date night” are very few and far between these days. My husband and I always “talk” about going downtown for a date night, but since we live OTP (thats “Outside the Perimeter” for those of you who might be new to Atlanta) we always find an excuse to just stick around our own neighborhood.? I have been wanting to check out the Inman Park area for some time now, and wanted to give all you ATLiens some ideas for a date night the next time you head down that way. Here are a list of places in the Inman Park area that I think would be both fun and affordable for your next night out on the town.
Inman Park is located two miles east from downtown Atlanta and is surrounded by contemporary lofts and gorgeous Victorian mansions. Not only are the homes in this area beautiful, but the restaurants there are fantastic and the area also houses one of my favorite theaters, the Horizon Theatre.
Barcelona Wine Bar: Stop at Barcelona first and enjoy a glass of wine and maybe a few tapas to start your night. Barcelona has a great outdoor patio that you and your date can enjoy when the weather is nice and even a patio-side fireplace for those cooler days and nights.
Bartaco Restaurant: There are several different locations throughout Atlanta, but this one is by far my favorite. With its open air feel, it makes it the perfect place to enjoy some tacos when the weather is nice here in Georgia. If you go here, make sure you try their guacamole, spicy cucumber salad, street corn (order it off the cob) and try their Shrimp “bahn mi”, baja fish and duck tacos.
Horizon Theatre: You’re in luck, because now through April 30th, the Horizon Theatre Company is featuring the Off-Broadway hit, Nobody Loves You for the first time in Atlanta! Nobody Loves you is a musical comedy that takes elements from the tv show, the Bachelorette and Survivor and rolls them all into one hilarious show about finding true love. You definitely don’t have to be a fan of reality television to enjoy this production! Its perfect for a date night (or even a evening with your BFF for a Girls Night Out).
I had the opportunity to see the show this past Friday night and I absolutely loved it! The Horizon theatre is an intimate and funky little theatre located in-between Inman Park and Little Five Points that houses many of Atlanta’s contemporary plays. I always enjoy going to the Horizon theatre because of all the award-winning actors who perform there, and all of the eclectic stories they offer that are relevant to your own life. The last time I was at the Horizon theatre this past December, I saw one of my favorite plays, The Santaland Diaries.
Nobody Loves You is about a guy named Jeff who decides to join a reality dating tv show as a way to win back his ex girlfriend. After realizing she isn’t on the show, Jeff decides to stay to try and expose the show’s “dis-authenticity” of relationships, but falls in love along the way. The characters on the show are hilarious and witty and will have you laughing the entire time. Tickets are $25 and the show runs for about an hour and 45 minutes, along with an intermission.? As I mentioned, the show will only run through the end of April, so grab your date and prepare to laugh your butt off!

? I ran into one of my favorite fellow Atlanta Bloggers, Kiwi the Beauty!
Queen of Cream: If you’re not too tired? after the show, be sure to stop by Queen of Cream and try one of their homemade ice creams (my favorite is the brown butter pecan!).
I hope that you enjoy my recommendations for a fabulous date night in the ATL! I covered a lot of great places in the Inman Park area, but be sure to come back, because there is so much more to enjoy there! Inman Park is definitely becoming a sought-after culinary destination, but is great because my favorite Atlanta theatre is also right around the corner!
